Himark Vino Fresco Terracotta Wine Cooler Natural Clay Italy Boxed Chiller

A terracotta wine cooler by Himark, embossed WINE VINO FRESCO ITALY COOLER around the body, with its glazed coaster and the original printed box. It works by evaporation and nothing else. Soak the unglazed clay in water for twenty minutes, stand a bottle in it, and as water leaves the porous body it carries heat with it. No ice, no power, no freezer space, and the bottle stays several degrees below room temperature for hours. The same physics keeps a Spanish botijo cold in a field and runs the clay pot coolers still used in West Africa. The coaster is glazed and the cooler is not, which is the whole design in one detail: the part that must stay wet is bare, and the part that touches your table is sealed. Box, coaster and cooler together. Most survivors are the cooler alone. Condition: No chips or cracks on the rim, body or foot. The glazed coaster is present. Embossed WINE VINO FRESCO ITALY COOLER on the side and the Himark maker's roundel on the underside are both crisp. Original printed box included with light shelf wear. Ships from Baltimore via FedEx within the stated handling time. Flat rate shipping by size. Combined shipping on multiple items. Returns accepted for 30 days. Ten percent of every sale goes to a nonprofit providing humanitarian aid in Ukraine. Packaging is reused. Boxes and padding come from what already passed through here, so the parcel will not look new but it will arrive intact. Nothing extra is included: no cards, no plastic sleeves, no filler.
