Vintage Aiyo China Dessert Bowls Set of 8 Floral Gold Trim Occupied Japan

Vintage Aiyo China Made in Occupied Japan  Set of 8 Dessert Bowls  Here's a lovely little slice of post-WWII Japanese china & you get 8 matching pieces, which is considerably more exciting than finding the usual orphan bowl.  This set of 8 vintage Aiyo China dessert/sauce bowls features a delicate floral design in soft pinks, greens & blue, surrounded by an intricate leafy border & finished with a gold edge. The overall look is distinctly mid-century and wonderfully delicate.  Each bowl measures approx. 5.5 dia. & 1 1/8 tall. The reverse is marked:  AIYO CHINA, MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN  The “Occupied Japan” designation places these in the post-WWII period, approximately 1945–1952.  I have not been able to identify a specific pattern name for this particular design, so I'm selling it simply as an Aiyo China floral pattern.  Overall very good vintage condition. The gold edging shows some wear, particularly in areas where the bowls have obviously been handled over the years. It isn't dramatic and does not detract from the pretty appearance of the set, but please look closely at the photographs.  There are no major condition issues that I can see. As with any nearly 80-year-old china, there may be minor signs of age & use.  First photo shows a single plate on a stand that looks darker, but it is not.  The light coming through the porcelain is making it appear darker.  I have other pieces of the same pattern that I will be listing separately over the next month.   [1099]
